Here are just some of the benefits that come with membership of the National Philatelic Society.

  • The good company of hundreds of other like-minded stamp collectors.

  • A welcome and membership to all whether

    • your interests are in Stamp Collecting or Postal History
    • your collection has won a gold medal or you have just started (or just returned to) the hobby

  • Benefits and facilities that include

    • Meetings normally held on the second Saturday of each month with an interesting display by a guest or member. Go to Meetings & Events and see all the Displays scheduled for this Season - you're bound to find your particular interests catered for and others that will add to your knowledge of philately. The Saturday Display is preceded by the Society's Monthly Auction.

Occasional country meetings are also held.

    • Stamp Lover, the Society's  32 page illustrated magazine, sent free to members six times a year. First issued in 1908, Stamp Lover has become renowned for its wide variety of philatelic articles and news.

Members may also submit a free classified advertisement for their wants and sales in each issue.

    • An impressive Library comprising over 7,500 volumes plus an extensive range of periodicals from many parts of the world. Most of the books and some of the periodicals may be borrowed for up to one month by members - contact our Librarian on npslibrary@ukphilately.org.uk for further information.

    • Stamp and Postal History Circulating Packets through which members may buy or sell material

    • Monthly Auctions of around 400 lots of stamps, postal history and literature with room/postal bidding

    • Book Sales Lists of second hand books and catalogues are sent to members with most issues of Stamp Lover.  Items are sold on a "First Come - First Served" basis.

    • "Shop Window" through which members may purchase albums, catalogues, accessories and philatelic books and publications at advantageous prices. It offers the convenience of home delivery (postage extra).
    • Annual Competitions in different classes with trophies for the winning entries.

    • NPS Appraisal Scheme - The Society runs the NPS Appraisal Scheme for those considering entering the National Competitions at Stampex. The usual fee for using this Scheme is waived for participants who are members of the National PS.
