  • Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II - This month's New Issues looks at the stamps being issued to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee.

  • Co incidences -1  Sydney Beckley and Penny Post Jubilee - One of the items shown by John Davies in his Penny Post Jubilee display once belonged to a certain Sydney Beckley. Beckley was a family friend of John Brownrigg who explains more.
     

  • Co-incidences - 2 The Plate 77 Penny Red - Two Plate 77 Penny Reds - one reported in the April 2012 Stamp Lover and the other in the January/February 1953 Stamp Lover catch they eye of Michael Goodman.

  • A Century Ago - How National Insurance affected the "MacKennals" - In 1912 the Junior Philatelic Society (now the National Philatelic Society) held the International Jubilee Exhibition and Ideal Stamp Competition. Dave Hill explains the reason behind the Exhibition and looks at the events taking place in that year.

  • Seminar on Cinderellas - The National Philatelic Society Philatelic Seminar given on 9 March 2012, was presented by Charles and Francis Kiddle. Two superb displays of material were included and here the editor of Stamp Lover explains what was missed by those not attending the seminar.

  • The Diamond Jubilee - Oh no, not more Machins! - Michael Goodman explains what is to be found on examining the First Class Machin stamp issued in blue for the Diamond Jubilee.

  • Captain Claud Lovat Fraser, A Story from WWI - A soldier's postcard dated 6 November 1915. In this article Dave Hill is able to tell us something about the sender.

  • The Royal Navy on the Danube during World War I - For nine months in 195, the Royal Navy maintained a mission in Belgrade to help the Serbs defend their capital against the Austrians. Mail from the mission is scarce but here, with the aid of a censored cover, Keith Tranmer tells us more about this aspect of the war.

  • Aden invert found used more than 70 years after issue - Michael Goodman was recently shown a used copy of the Aden 2½ annas 1937 Coronation stamp. Aden was the only participant in this omnibus issue to feature an inverted watermark variety.

  • New Issues

    • Bermuda Post Office Bicentennial

    • Colonial Heritage -  From Australia, the latest in the Colonial Heritage series of special stamps being issued in the run up to AUSTRALIA 2013.

    • 30th Anniversary of Liberation -  a colourful issue from the Falkland Islands 

    • Raoul Wallenburg - Hungary and Sweden jointly mark the Centenary of the Swedish Diplomat's birth and the role he played in saving lives in Nazi occupied Budapest. 

  • Meeting reports on the President's Display given by Chris Oliver on 12 May 2012 and the Members Displays given in the afternoon of the Annual General Meeting on 9 June 2012

  • York Meeting - The National held a joint meeting with York Philatelic Society on 23 June 2012 -Chris Oliver reports.
