The Role of the Trust
The British Philatelic Trust has been reviewing its role over recent months to ensure it is fulfilling its obligations. More details.
New Chairman for British Philatelic Trust
Brian Trotter is the new Chairman of the British Philatelic Trust. He was appointed a Trustee two years ago, and in that time played a vital role in the work of refurbishing the British Philatelic Centre, the property that the Trust owned at 107 Charterhouse Street, close to Smithfield Market in London. This property has now closed. The current address is:

He succeeds Francis Kiddle, a Trustee since 1985, and Chairman for the past nine years. As Chairman Francis has successfully steered the Trust through a number of difficulties, many caused by the turbulent state of the financial markets in recent years. He will remain as a Trustee.
In addition there are two new Trustees. John Pattullo was born in 1945 and educated in New Zealand, He has worked for Deloitte and Touché, Glencore UK Ltd, and is at present Chief Accountant for Ronly Holdings Ltd. He came to London in 1970, marrying in 1972, but soon after moved to Zurich where they stayed for 19 years. They returned to London in 1991, remaining from that time. Among John’s interests are golf, and collecting Bordeaux wines. He also shows a keen interest in rugby, cricket and tennis.
The other new Trustee is Alan Moorcroft, well known in philatelic circles and Treasurer of The Royal Philatelic Society London. Alan’s business interests are in the retail fashion industry. His collections have focused on the postal history of the Channel Islands and the Royal Cypher issue of King George V. He is married with two sons, both also active in the philatelic world.
They succeed Miss Sybil Smith and Michael Pitt-Payne, who have resigned at Trustees. In addition, Professor Iain Stevenson has stood down as the Honorary Adviser.
