The Association of British Philatelic Societies Ltd (ABPS) is the National Organisation catering for the needs of Federations, Societies, Collectors and others interested in Philately.

The financial stability of the ABPS is underwritten by its corporate structure. The Association itself has been formed into a company, limited by guarantee, the liability of each member being limited to £1.

The Company has a subsidiary, ABPS Exhibitions Ltd, which undertakes exhibitions and similar functions.

Membership of the Association falls into various categories.

A special category of Patrons and Friends of the Association has been created for those who are interested in the work of the Association to help achieve its aims. Patrons and Friends can attend but do not have votes at meetings of the Association. They receive the "ABPS News" and other publications free of charge.

The Association can provide a worthwhile service to its membership only if as many Societies. Federations and Individuals join and offer support both financial and physical.. To help this process members of the ABPS Executive Committee are pleased to attend, by invitation, Society and Federation events to explain its aims.

ABPS Subscriptions
Membership of the ABPS is based upon affiliated Associations/Federations, National, Specialist and Local Societies.

Individuals can also join the ABPS as Patrons and Friends of Philately. Whilst having no voting rights, Patrons and Friends receive the "ABPS NEWS" and the ABPS DIRECTORY & HANDBOOK and take advantage of all other services provided by the Association. They are, of course, free to express their views and opinions via the "ABPS NEWS" and at the Association’s Annual General Meeting.
